Kitchen Colors?

I need help! I am at a loss! My kitchen currently is plain white (blah!). Anyways, I really would like to spruce up my kitchen with some color, but have no idea where to even start, and what color to even start with. My kitchen has white cabinets with silver handles The kitchen surface is gray with black speckles, and my appliances are stainless steel and black and white. My floor, of course is white! The room is also very small. Any color suggestions or helpful hints for choosing a color? Thank you!

  1. Tan and ecru
  2. If the paint is good, you could try a border around the top, and follow up with matching curtains. I personally like white walls, you can change curtains and throw rugs, and not have to worry about a match. I like to change my kitchen curtains often, with the seasons.
  3. you should try pumpkin and blood. its seasonal sure but nothing says easter like a jeffrey's kitchen
  4. Red or bright yellow to add zing to your kitchen. Yellow is friendly and Red makes you active and hungry. Curtains, rugs, dish towels. Big fruit bowl in either color
  5. Put black and white tiles on the wall by your sink, then a light gray on the walls, real light
  6. Well, I actually had a color in mind...and you said "I really would like to SPRUCE up my kitchen with some color"....well, with your white cabinets and silver hardware and dark counter tops and stainless appliances, I think SPRUCE GREEN is the perfect color! The white cabinets will add contrast to the dark walls, but yet give the room the color it needs and the dark spruce will go perfect with the dark countertops. So SPRUCE GREEN is my vote!!
  7. You should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours: http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_visualizer/index.jsp All of the colors you already have are pretty neutral, so you could do any color that you want. I suggest a dark red - like "borscht." I think it will really set off the white cabinets & floor beautifully.
  8. What really matters is what colors you like. Personally I'd paint my kitchen orange or yellow if I could, but I rent and we aren't allowed to paint! I think in a kitchen you could get away with almost any color, but based on what you said about yours I'd suggest a light blue or purple, because cool colors will go well with the stainless steel and gray. Although, If you dare, you could go with red, because it goes well with silver, but not everyone could pull that off, and you might get sick of it fast. I'd suggest you go to the hardware store and get some paint samples and look at the brochures they have with photos and ideas. Usually you can take as many of the samples as you want, so take then home and see how they look in your kitchen. If you can't pick from that, you can buy a small sample size can of paint in the colors you are deciding between, and try painting a small area of your wall to help you decide. Good Luck, and remember, if you end up not liking it you can always paint over till you find something you like!
  9. My kitchen is also on the small side...I went with a sunny yellow but you may also want to consider a light green or very light grey
  10. I'm agreed with yowza
