My Home Design

What should I buy for my new apartment?

My husband and I are moving from his parents house to our own place on Thursday. I have these items already: Queen size Bed 2 large dressers dining room table couch 2 small computer desks dishes, flatware, pots & pans 4 table lamps wall decor (nothing fancy) I need a good piece of artwork. Kitchen comes with appliances. Here's the floor plan of the apartment. http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/2195/fp11646781340448082wf2.jpg guess I should've added... my husband and I are huge gamers. We have every console known to man. So far we only have a 19 inch tv. But, he's going to get a big screen hdtv. I do need to find a big entertainment center to display all of our goodies. Our couch is a sectional. But, I'm taking the connector piece out of the middle. I'm going to have the couch strech across as one piece. And have the back wall of the living room be our focal point for the entertainment items. Also, for the person who asked about the computers, yes, we have 1 for him and 1 for me.

  3. you might like to have a coffee or end tables for your living room. And youll need towels and such for your bath and kitchen.
  4. Flowers? or nice plants? or maybe tablecloths
  5. Well the living is a little too big to only have one couch. I say buy another couch that matches also a coffee table and a room rug and some accesories like candles etc. Art work is great! Curtains or something like that. An entertainment center. Accecories for the bathroom. Hope this helps!
  6. Sounds like you need some dining room chairs and plants off the bat. Unless you have two computers, not sure why you need two computer desks though. Is this going to be a home with TV, dvd's, books and/or music? If so you'll want the appropriate audio visual equipment and attractive storage. Starting out new is a great opportunity to go minimlist if this style appeals to you - the rest of the developed world spends a lot of time and effort decluttering - so just have a system for dealing with bills and mail etc. Anyway, don't be in a hurry to get everything straightaway - you'll realise what you need and will pick up pieces you really want over the next year of so as you gradually create your own home. You'll want the time to customise it and make it unique to yourselves.
