we lived in India four 2 years... my mom wants to design the living room in the us based on india ?

is designing the living room a good idea ?and can u give me design tips.

1. It is a good idea and also you can even use your India colors and you can even put other stuff from India on the walls and you can even paint the top of of the living room the same as the wallls and also you can even paint people from India on the celing and on the walls too with other stuff.

3. it's a good idea...u should use artifacts that u've bought in India. i suggest that u shouldn't paint the walls in color. go for white or cream and other neutrals. this is because textiles from India look really nice and colorful. if you paint the room orange, for example, only the matching colors would be able to fit into the room. buy some of those leather puppets and hang them on the wall. good luck.
4. its a great idea... instead of doin up the entire room , you could perhaps have a corner designed specially.. jazz it it up warm colours like a deep yellow & oranges.. one nice piece of ethnic indian furniture like a "jhoola" can serve as a sitting corner.. or even get hold of an an antique indian trunk..mount a glass on it ..that makes for an interesting centre table..since indian fabrics are so unique in theire texture and prints, u can just pick up some yards of it and double them up as curtains... well..ideas galore really! all da best.. wud be nice to see a pic once u have done it up :)
