Decorating Kitchen & Dining Room?
I am painting my Kitchen/Dining room and using a country motif. I like the reds greens and blues. I also really like the Americana decor. Just wondering if anyone out there would like to voice their opinion and give me some colors to work with?

- A good rule-of-thumb in using a country palette is that the colors should blend well with nature, and create an atmosphere that’s warm, inviting and welcoming. Use either a soft green in the kitchen and a darker shade of the same color in the dining room or a soft yellowish gold and a deeper gold in the dining room. Display your vintage china plates on walls, like pictures, or as a collection in a hutch or open cabinet. Roosters are a favorite theme for coutry kitchens and dining rooms. Hope this helps.
- I recommend keeping the space light and cheerful. You might think about painting the walls in a buttery yellow with fabric on the windows (valances, maybe?), cushions on the chairs, rugs and counter-top accessories in the red, greens and blues that you like. the trim in the space could be painted a creamy white. You might even think about installing an inexpensive molding as a chair rail in the dining area in the same creamy white and painting the lower portion of the wall in a slightly darker shade of the same yellow as the upper portion of the walls. This sort of treatment is typical of many "country" interiors.
