Architecture Engineering Fee for home addition?

How much (ballpark) does it cost to have architectural plans drawn up for a home addition? It's simple, just three 8ft walls and a roof. Footprint approx 14'x35'

  1. Unless the municipality you live in requires a licensed architect/engineer to furnish a plan for a permit, your contractor should be able to draw a plan of the addition that would satisfy most building departments. Talk to your contractor first. If it is that simple it may be unnecessary to hire someone just to draw a plan.
  2. The company I work for would charge $3.00 a square foot, but depending on where you live it could be more or less. Your builder could draw the plan up as well if it is a small addition & have it submitted for approval through the county
