What is involved with remodeling bathroom?
We got more than we bargined for when we wanted to replace our tub. The floor was rotted and moldy and they ended up pulling out the tub, toilet and sink and most of the floor. I wonder what kind of time frame and cost are we looking at to have this fixed and remodeled?

- If you are having just the fixtures and floor done expect 30 to 40 hours plus cost of parts. That can run $1200 (cheapest)to whatever you want to spend on fixtures. If you are going to to replace the wall tiles due to drying time etc I would estimate 40 to 60 man hours plus parts. Around here a full bathroom reno job can run 5K to 15K depends on size and cost of parts you want to install. Keep in mind quality tile costs a lot per sq foot.
- depends how bad it is and what all you need if your putting in new floor,tub,sink,toilet,vanity, mirror,plumbingit could take a week or so and cost about 2 grand
- After you gut the bathroom, 1st make sure you use the green board (mildew resistant) in the shower area. It will cost you anywhere from $2K to $5K for the entire bathroom. Another thing to look into is recycled glass tile. It is extremely popular now, looks awesome, recycled, and a lot of times less expensive than regular tile.
