Best Garden Design Software.? Hi, I am looking for Garden design software to start a large garden project. It will need to be easy to use, have the ability to stage a large garden. I would also prefer for it to have its own database of commonly used plants, eg: If I want to have a rose bed I would like to be able to place rose plants not just see the writing. It would be ideally around the $50 mark and no more. Any one know of anything like that. Many thanks in advance for your answers.

I want to do a 3D design (2D if I am asking for the impossible) of the garden of my dreams but the software is so damn expensive. Anyone know any good sites?? I have had a few landscapers out to look at the garden but can't seem to get accross to them just what I want it like, and my artistic flare is non-existant and the drawings I try to do look really naff. Thanks Janey

What tools do I need to know to start a landscape and gardening design business? Years ago I worked in a amateur way in gardening maintenance. I realice that I liked it a lot but I don't have the specific knoledge and experience to start a landscape and gardening design business. I have the feeling that I have the creativity for doing this but of course this is not all. Could someone help me telling me the kind of tools that I would require to start this gradually? Maybe I would requiere to know some landscape design software, etc. In short, what kind of tools would be necesary to have and learn. Maybe the thing would be more complex like doing an Business plan? I'll thank any advice. Chris

how difficult is it to learn and use CAD programs? My father runs his own company designing and manufacturing garden products (water pond features, animal shelters etc, see faunagarden.com). He does all the product designing, and would like to learn to design them on a CAD program. He does not have a lot of spare time. What software would you suggest, or would you suggest it is too much of a task for an already busy man with only moderate computer skills?
landscape software? I have Better Home And Garden Suite 6.0 and it sucks all I want is something to simply landscape my backyard like a basic design like you see in magazines or anything?
How to change a file into Adobe supported file? Questions about computers, please? Please accept my thanks in advance? Could you please tell me how long we have had computers as we know them today, with all the desktop equipment, the software, and the printers, and all the databanks or websites with all the information.....in other words, about what point in time did they settle down with the design we have today? Another question: If I buy a laptop, does it function as well as a desktop, especially regarding the high-quality color printing? The desktop to which I have access right now has a terrific printer, and I am plain spoiled! And "Wordpad"? Third question: Will I be able to take a laptop that I purchase here in the US to India with me, or should I buy another one there? I will be in a very good spot for purchasing computers, so that is no problem. Last, with regards to what functions on a worldwide level, the whole thing fits a standard, is that not so? Unlike electrical connections and attachments for garden hoses, world standards for computers are the same? Tnx!

How do I calculate the amount of tile I need (per color) for a mosaic project? I am making several large mosaic circles (on cement) (smallest is 17' diameter, largest 24' )and I am using specific designs. These designs are colorful and consist of shapes and numbers. They are going to go in an art garden for children to play on. For example - One circle will have a red hopscotch within it surrounded by green semi-circles. I do not know how to figure out curves. I know how to do square/retangle areas (L x W) but the curves and detail are confusing. I have to pre-order all this tile an I do not want to order to much or way to little. Can anyone suggest how i can go about this? I have read on here about the software CAD. I have never used that but it I can download the designs and it tells me the sq footage needed I would use that... Thanks to all who can help!!
